ABOUT MONOL

STUDY

I learned in the Intensive Speaking (IS) course for 2 months and the IELTS course for 2 months. As for the IELTS course, although I do not need the score, I think the classes are helpful and effective. I was motivated by the practice exams which were held every Fridays. Moreover, the quality of the teachers is excellent as compared with other teachers because they are quite familiar with vocabulary and grammar. I could guarantee that you would be satisfied with the abilities of teachers and the classes. On the other hand, the IS has totally different features. In my view, the quality of the classes depends on students as all classes are man to man. If I had a chance to study again in Monol, I would choose the ESL rather than the IS since ESL has a pronunciation class and a writing class which are not included in the IS. By the way, I felt that some teachers were not motivated and this was the most negative point for me.

FACILITIES

　I believe the environment in Monol is suitable for focusing on study because there are some sports facilities, like the golf area and the gym, which could refresh the students. In addition, I guess the WIFI in Monol is very strong in the city. However the sound of construction was terrible. It always prevented them from sleeping and studying. Furthermore, it also affected the laundry service. I had to wait almost one week to receive my clothes from the laundry staff. Though many students complained about it, nothing happened.

IS（集中会話）コースで2か月、IELTSコースで2か月勉強しました。IELTSコースは、特にスコアが必要だったわけではないのですが、授業は有意義かつ効果的でした。毎週金曜日の模試がモチベーションを保つ要因です。そして、他の先生と比べると、IELTSの先生の教え方は素晴らしいです。ボキャブラリーやグラマーについて、細かく知り尽くしています。IELTSコースの先生とその授業は間違いなく満足できるとお約束します。その一方でISは全く違ったコースとなります。私が感じたのは、すべてがマンツーマン授業のため、良くも悪くも授業のクオリティが学生自身にかかってきます。もし、私がMonolでもう1度勉強できるとしたら、ISではなく、ESLを選びたいと思います。ESLは、ISにはない発音とライティングの授業があるためです。あと、やる気を感じられない先生がいて、私にとってはこれが最も残念な点でした。

施設面

Monolの環境は勉強に集中するにはぴったりです。ゴルフやジムなどの運動ができる施設で気分転換もできます。さらに、MonolのWi-Fiはバギオ市内の中でもとても強い方だと思います。しかし、現在工事をしていて、その騒音が睡眠や勉強の妨げとなりました。そして、工事はランドリーサービスにまで影響し、預けた服が1週間戻ってきませんでした。多くの生徒が不満を口にしていますが、今のところ何も変化はありません。

Shownさんは最初、3ヶ月ISコースの予定でしたが、適性を踏まえてIELTSコースをお勧めし、3ヶ月目からIELTS(GT)コース、そして１ヶ月延長をされました。やる気のない先生がいたとのご指摘を申し訳なく思います。Monolでは先生を変えたい場合、すぐに相談して変えられますし、その先生にはヘッドティーチャーから厳しい指導がなされます。また、建物の工事が土日は９時から行われており、在学生及び今後いらっしゃる新入生の皆様にはたびたびご迷惑をおかけすることも事実でございます。ランドリーサービスにつきましては、問題発生１週間後、システムを変更し、現状預けてから２日で受取が可能ですが、さらにはやい洗濯を希望の場合は、屋上のランドリーステーションをご利用ください。
